Passé antérieur and passé surcomposé
Quand il eut fini… / Quand il a eu fini…: the «had done» of literature and of speech.
Both tenses show an action completed just before another in the past. They appear after quand, lorsque, dès que, aussitôt que, après que, à peine… que.
