Formal and academic Spanish prefers nouns to verbs, impersonal structures and more precise vocabulary.

Common suffixes: -ción (reducir → reducción), -miento (crecer → crecimiento), -dad (posible → posibilidad), -a / -o (compra, cambio).
- Tras la aprobación de la ley, se produjo un descenso del desempleo.Following the passing of the law, unemployment fell.
- Le rogamos que realice el pago antes del día 15.Please make the payment before the 15th.
