Haber + participle for actions in an unfinished time period (today, this week) and for experiences.

Irregular participles: hacer → hecho, decir → dicho, ver → visto, escribir → escrito, poner → puesto, volver → vuelto, abrir → abierto, romper → roto, morir → muerto.
When to use it (in Spain)
- with time expressions that include now: hoy, esta mañana, esta semana, este año.
- for experiences with no time given: ¿Has estado en Perú?
- with ya (already), todavía no (not yet), nunca, alguna vez (ever).
- Esta semana he trabajado mucho.I've worked a lot this week.
- ¿Has probado la paella alguna vez? – No, nunca.Have you ever tried paella? – No, never.
