Indicative or subjunctive? Cases where meaning changes

El hecho de que, aunque, decir que, sentir que: when the mood changes the message.

El hecho de que and a sentence-initial que usually take the subjunctive, even for known facts: El hecho de que no haya llamado me preocupa.

  • Le escribí que me esperara en la estación.
    I wrote telling him to wait for me at the station.
  • Que no digas nada no significa que estés de acuerdo.
    The fact that you say nothing doesn't mean you agree.
