  1. 1 Pronunciation: the basics The two «th» sounds, the «h», long and short vowels, and word stress.
  2. 2 Subject pronouns: I, you, he, she, it… The subject is never left out, one «you» for everyone, and «it» for things.
  3. 3 The verb to be am, is, are, contractions, and adjectives that describe feelings and states.
