Past habits and being accustomed: four structures not to confuse.

| used to + base | a past habit or state that is no longer true | I used to smoke. |
| would + base | a past habit (actions only, storytelling style) | Every summer we would go to the beach. |
| be used to + noun / -ing | be accustomed to | I'm used to getting up early. |
| get used to + noun / -ing | become accustomed to | You'll get used to the weather. |
