Politesse et formulation indirecte
Would you mind…, I'm afraid…, it might be worth…, not very : l'art britannique de l'euphémisme.
La politesse anglaise, surtout britannique, passe par l'indirect et l'atténuation. Une formulation directe, correcte grammaticalement, peut sembler brusque.
