Las condicionales: if + presente, if + pasado
If I have / If I had / If I were you: las tres primeras estructuras.
| Tipo | Estructura | Ejemplo |
|---|---|---|
| 0 (verdad general) | if + presente, presente | If you heat water, it boils. |
| 1 (real, posible) | if + presente, will | If it rains, I'll stay home. |
| 2 (hipotético) | if + past simple, would | If I had money, I would travel. |
If I were
En el tipo 2 se usa a menudo were para todas las personas, sobre todo en If I were you (yo que tú): If I were you, I'd accept. «If I was» es frecuente al hablar.
Unless
Unless = if … not (a menos que): I'll go unless it rains (iré a menos que llueva). ¡Ojo! Después de unless va presente, no subjuntivo.
