Myself and each other: ο εαυτός μου, ο ένας τον άλλο

Reflexive and reciprocal meaning with -ομαι verbs and pronoun phrases.

Many reflexive actions are expressed by -ομαι verbs: ντύνομαι (get dressed), πλένομαι (wash), ξυρίζομαι (shave).

When a separate reflexive pronoun is needed, Greek uses ο εαυτός μου / σου / του… (literally «my self»):

We blame ourselves.Κατηγορούμε τον εαυτό μας.

Each other

ο ένας τον άλλο(ν) or a verb in -ιέμαι / -ομαι: Αγαπιούνται = They love each other; Βοηθάμε ο ένας τον άλλο = We help each other.

  • Πρέπει να αγαπάς τον εαυτό σου.
    You have to love yourself.
  • Γνωριζόμαστε εδώ και χρόνια.
    We've known each other for years.
