Real conditions: αν + θα
If it rains, we'll stay home: conditions that can come true.

| present (general truth) | present | Αν βρέχει, μένουμε σπίτι. |
| dependent perfective (future) | θα + verb | Αν βρέξει, θα μείνουμε σπίτι. |
| dependent perfective | imperative | Αν δεις τη Μαρία, πες της γεια. |
Αν δεν = unless / if not: Αν δεν βιαστείς, θα χάσεις το λεωφορείο. Also εκτός αν = unless.
- Αν έχεις χρόνο, έλα για φαγητό.If you have time, come over for dinner.
- Αν δεν βρω εισιτήριο, θα πάω με το αυτοκίνητο.If I don't find a ticket, I'll drive.
